In the week 33 of TAM TV ratings, Zee TV, Colors and Sab emerged as the clear winners.

Star Plus continues to be the chart leader and noted 689 million GVTs, down from 712 million GVTs. Zee TV, the only channel that shed numbers last week notched up this week taking its tally to 453 million GVTs, up from 415 million GVTs

A trailer launch for a film that releases in barely a couple of months, but still gives away almost nothing of the story might be a problem for a Hollywood movie. But for a Bollywood event film such as the upcoming “Happy New Year,” such teasing is simply par for the course.

In the week 32 of TAM TV ratings, Star Plus continues to be the chart leader. It witnessed a huge growth and clocked 712 million GVTs, up from 677 million GVTs.

Zee TV is the only channel that witnessed a drop in the viewership. Thus it recorded 415 million GVTs, down from 438 million GVTs. However, there was no change in the ranking order of the other channels this week.

In a cricket-crazy country, the game of Kabaddi has found an astounding number of viewers.

As many as 218 million viewers tuned into the Star Sports Pro-Kabaddi league's opening games, according to inputs provided to the channel by TAM.

The TAM data for week 31 shows the league’s reach for the first eight days stands at 72.5 million viewers.  This when extrapolated to an all India universe, as per standard industry conversions, means that over 218 million Indians have watched the tournament, according to the channel. Data shows entire families including women, children and youth tracked the league.  In all 32 per cent of all viewers were women while 22 per cent were children. The strategy of making the sport appealing to youth has paid off with 25 per cent of all viewers in the 15-24 age segment.

It was a dull week for all the Hindi general entertainment channels (GECs) as all witnessed a drop in the viewership. There are no gainers in the week 31 of TAM TV ratings.

space Star Plus lost its 700 million mark and stood at 676,578 GVTs, down from 709,317 GVTs. Almost all its offerings has seen a fall in the ratings.

Apara Mehta to Play Modern Grandmother in Jamai Raja

Actress Apara Mehta, known for her role in the TV serial "Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi", will soon be seen playing a modern and contemporary grandmother in the forthcoming show "Jamai Raja".

She is playing a "nani" who prays every morning and is hip enough to sport salwar kameez, try nail art and visit a spa every now and then.

Nia Sharma, who plays the female lead Roshni in the show, lovingly calls her 'Sexy'.

Apara says that she has always wanted to do roles that are different, and "Jamai Raja" that has been produced by Ashwini Yardi along with Akshay Kumar under the banner Grazing Goats Pictures, was truly one of them.

Surat girl wins Rs.640,000 on "Kaun Banega Crorepati 8"

Megastar Amitabh Bachchan Saturday launched popular TV reality game show "Kaun Banega Crorepati 8" (KBC) here and local girl Deepa Jagtiani, who got to play KBC live, won Rs.640,000.

Deepa, who helps her brother in his business, used three lifelines - 'audience poll' and 'phone a friend' and 'triguni' while playing the game, which is the Indian adaptation of international format "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire".

With 14 questions, the theme of the latest season of the show is strumming the heart strings of viewers and the prize money is Rs.7 crore this year.

What’s in store for Life OK in the coming months?

It was in late 2011 when viewers were introduced to one more general entrainment channel (GEC) and who had thought that in a short span of three years, Star Network’s Life OK would challenge the established ones.

After climbing to the third spot in the TAM TV ratings chart and staying there for long now, the channel has proved its might. It created a niche for itself because of its path breaking content like ‘Saubhagyavati Bhava’, ‘Savdhaan India’ and ‘Devon Ke Dev…Mahadev’.

The man behind the success, the channel’s general manager Ajit Thakur is a humble man who believes in delivering results rather than talking about it.

Thakur who took the path less taken, in an earlier interview, had said that before 2014 ends the channel will have new offerings for its viewers. 

Shah Rukh Khan to host Colors' 'Got Talent World Stage Live'

From the time Colors’ biggest reality show, Bigg Boss ended, speculation has been if Salman Khan will return for the eighth season of the show. And when the news of Shah Rukh Khan coming on the channel broke, rumours about SRK hosting the show intensified. 

However, these rumours have now been put to rest as the channel made formal announcement of its new property 'Got Talent World Stage Live' which will be hosted by Shah Rukh Khan.

The channel is set to present a first-of-its-kind global on ground extension of the ‘Got Talent’ franchise in India. It has associated with RFS Entertainment, an entertainment company that has partnered with Simon Cowell's Syco Entertainment, to bring the best of acrobats, dancers, stunt artists and many more to the country.

List of shows which ended within six months due to low TRP Ratings

Year 2013 - 2014 has seen many shows which ended in less than six months due to its low TRP Ratings.

Barely four months after its launch, SAB TV's horror-comedy Pritam, Pyare Aur Woh featuring Siddharth Sagar and Prasad Barve is the latest show to enter this list.

The show, which was launched in March, will breathe its last on August 1. Says a source, "The show failed to generate sustainable ratings and hence the decision to pull the plug on it. The last day of shoot was July 19.

Varun Badola bags key role in 'Tumhari Paakhi'

So far Iqbal Khan was seen as the man in focus on TV show "Tumhari Paakhi", but now Varun Badola will be seen stepping in as the protagonist soon, says a source.

The narrative of the Life OK show is slated to undergo a major change. Iqbal was earlier playing a double role and recently one of the characters that he played, died in the show.

The blame comes on Aryaman, a character played by Iqbal himself. His character goes to jail. Varun steps in as a high profile lawyer who knows no boundaries when it comes to his profession.
