Shah Rukh to host Zee TV's new show ‘Dil Se Naachein Indiawaale’

Zee TV is all set to launch another unique dance reality show titled ‘Dil Se Naachein Indiawaale’ with Bollywood King Shah Rukh Khan as the host.

In a first-of-its-kind association with the actor’s upcoming film ‘Happy New Year’, Zee will launch ‘Dil Se Naachein Indiawaale’, a unique dance tour to search for a ‘happy’ dancer whose act makes everyone smile.

Zee TV programming head Namit Sharma confirmed the news, “Yes, we are associating with Shah Rukh Khan for a brand-new dance reality show. It has a fresh concept and will not be a one-off show. We will announce more details about it soon.”

In the week 37 of TAM TV ratings, the ranking order of Hindi general entertainment channels (GECs) remains undamaged.

At number one stood Star Plus which was the third highest gainer this week. It reported 594,923 GVTs, up from 591,045 GVTs. Despite a drop, Zee TV continues to hold its number two position strongly.

Fans and advertisers who until now were most familiar with boundaries and record breaking centuries scored by cricketers in India are learning how to tackle a new game-Kabaddi which slowly yet steadily is raiding the hearts of many.

During the 37 day Pro Kabaddi League (PKL), a massive 435 million viewers tuned in to catch the action which is almost triple the number of people who watched FIFA World Cup 2014 in India.  When compared to the glitzy Indian Premiere League (IPL) which garnered 552 million viewers, Kabaddi undoubtedly has become India’s second most favourite sport after cricket for now. KBC turns fourteen with Amitabh Bachchan

"Kaun Banega Crorepati" (KBC) turns fourteen this year and so does Amitabh Bachchan's association with the popular game show. The Bollywood megastar finds the longevity "alluring".

"KBC an association of 14 years and its longevity still alluring," the 71-year-old tweeted.

It was in the year 2000 that Big B associated himself with KBC, which also marked his foray into the world of television. Not only was the show hugely successful, it widened Big B's reach, thanks to his demeanour and humility.

After the success of 'Lagaan' and 'Jodha Akbar', A R Rahman has teamed up with Ashutosh Gowariker for the director's debut television show titled 'Everest'.

Music maestro A.R. Rahman, who acted in TV show "Wonder Balloon" in 1980, is back on television, but this time as a composer. He says in the last 34 years, the medium has become very big.

Rahman said that it was a privilege to work on the Star Plus show with Gowariker, whose first look was launched yesterday.

"I have worked with Ashutosh earlier and it was a great experience. He has given me a brief for the show and I have already composed the title track for 'Everest'.

Fawad Khan: Anxious about response to 'Humsafar' in India

Pakistani actor Fawad Khan says as much as he is excited about his hit TV drama 'Humsafar' premiering on Indian television, he is also nervous about audience's reaction to the show and hopes it lives up to the hype surrounding it.

The 23-episode drama is touted as the highest-rated Pakistani TV serial ever and has acquired a fan-following in the country. The serial also received praise for Fawad's performance and his on-screen chemistry with co-star Mahira Khan.

"I have seen the promos of 'Humsafar' on Zindagi and I am thankful to all those who have loved the show before and who are waiting for it now becuase the show is special to me. But I am also scared about its outcome here, I just hope it fares well and people like it. I have mixed feelings about it," Fawad told .

Pakistan approached India to allow Pak entertainment TV channels

Buoyed by increasing popularity of Zindagi TV channels exclusively showing Pakistsoaps and family serials, Pakistan has approached Indian authorities to allow more of its entertainment channels to relay their programmes to the Indian audience.

"Here, we are trying with the (Indian) authorities to allow more Pakistani channels like Geo TV Entertainment, Hum TV and ARY," Pakistan High Commissioner to India Abdul Basit said at an interactive session of the ASSOCHAM here.

CFL Derby beats FIFA World Cup Finals in terms of viewership

It is a known fact that Bengal is the mecca of Indian football. That East Bengal and Mohun Bagan continue to rule the hearts of millions of Bengali’s was proven yet again with the success of the Derby match held during Calcutta Football League. People tuned in hoards to watch the most followed tie in Bengal, according to Star India.

The match was watched by 19.7 lakh viewers on Jalsha Movies that surpassed the viewership of the FIFA World Cup Finals (18.3 lakh) on Sony Aath, according to data provided by Star India.

This is also the highest rated Derby match ever across any channel in Bengal. It garnered a TRP rating of 266 TVTs in M 25 + AB and 801 TVTs in CS 4+ beating all previous records.

Not only did the viewers tune in but on an average they spent over 66 minutes watching this engrossing match.

Chrome Data: Week 37 sees no gainer

The week 37 of Chrome Data Analytics and Media didn’t see any gainers for opportunity to see (OTS).

The genres which saw a drop was lead by English News. The channels in the eight metros fell 2.3 per cent with Times Now leading the pack with 85.6 OTS.

It was closely followed by Religious channels in the Hindi speaking market (HSM), which fell by 2 per cent. Aastha channel continued its reign in the genre with 95.7 per cent OTS.

Hindi News channels in the HSM too fell by 1.9 per cent with ABP News gaining the most in the genre by garnering 95 per cent OTS.
